dressed. (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the dressed. mobile application (the “App”).
Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Display name and email address when you create an account.
- Wardrobe data: Clothing item details (name, brand, category, colour, purchase price) and any photos you upload.
- Outfit data: Outfit entries including linked items, dates, notes, and optional photos you attach.
- Capsule data: Names, descriptions, emojis, and item collections for capsule wardrobes.
- Shop links: Optional URLs you add to clothing items for affiliate linking.
Information Collected Automatically
- Crash reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to capture crash and error reports. Reports include your account UUID (never your email or name), device model, OS version, app version, and the stack trace of the error.
- Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used in aggregate. Events include screen views, feature usage (by type, not content), and subscription-related actions. We collect only counts, booleans, and categorical strings — never wardrobe content, photos, item names, or any personally identifying information.
- Device information: OS version, device type, and app version for compatibility and support purposes.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your password (it is processed securely by our authentication provider and never stored by us in plain text).
- We do not collect your wardrobe photos for any purpose other than storing and displaying them to you.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your wardrobe or outfit content.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App — sync your wardrobe, outfits, and capsules across devices.
- Authenticate your account — verify your identity and maintain your session.
- Sync your data — store your wardrobe content in the cloud so it is accessible after reinstallation or on a new device.
- Improve the App — analyse aggregate usage patterns to guide product decisions.
- Diagnose issues — use crash reports to identify and fix bugs.
- Process subscriptions — verify and manage your dressed. Pro subscription via Google Play Billing.
- Send notifications — deliver optional weekly unworn-item digest notifications if you opt in (Pro feature).
Data Storage and Security
Where Your Data Is Stored
- Authentication and database: Your account and wardrobe metadata are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in the United States and/or the European Union.
- Photos: Your clothing and outfit photos are stored in Supabase Storage (object storage), associated exclusively with your account.
- Local storage: A local copy of your wardrobe is cached on your device using an encrypted local database to enable offline access.
- Credentials: Your authentication token is stored in Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences — it is never accessible to other apps.
Security Measures
We implement industry-standard measures to protect your data, including:
- TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
- Row-level security on our database — your data is accessible only to your authenticated account.
- EncryptedSharedPreferences for sensitive tokens stored on-device.
- Access control policies that restrict employee access to production data.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

Notes on Advertising
- Ads are shown only to free-tier users and are served as native cards matching the App’s design.
- Ads are never shown inside bottom sheets or modals — only in scrollable list and feed surfaces.
- No ad personalisation is performed using your wardrobe content or outfit data.
- Upgrading to dressed. Pro removes all third-party ads entirely.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access and Portability
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at the address below.
Correction
You may update your display name and email address at any time from the Profile tab within the App.
Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. Account deletion permanently removes:
- Your account credentials
- All wardrobe items, photos, outfits, and capsule data
- All data from our servers
Deletion is processed within 30 days of your request. Local data on your device is cleared immediately upon sign-out.
GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:
- Access, rectify, or erase your personal data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Our lawful basis for processing your data is contract performance (to provide the App service you have requested).
CCPA (California Users)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Data Retention
- Active accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. If you wish to delete your account, send us an email.
- Crash and analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised; retained per Firebase’s standard retention policies (up to 90 days for crash data; configurable for analytics).
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. For material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice or email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
